I have a customer with Stage 4 cancer. It started in her breast and had metastasized by the time she discovered it. She has 4 children and is dealing with ongoing treatment (currently 2 weeks on and 1 week off). Her treatment schedule is further dependent on if her white blood cell count is high enough to have the treatment at any given time which creates added stress and uncertainty.
She is always positive and such a fun person when she's in the shop. If she weren't bald you would NEVER know all the things she's currently going through.
I knew I wanted to do something to help...but what? That's when her mom came in and said, simply, FOOD. After her treatments she's down for the count and cooking for her kids is too much. I want to gift something she needs and that is helpful...and food it is!
